Why North Point
I never saw it coming.
My mother was in her early eighties, and on the surface, everything seemed fine. She was still living in her own home and, when we talked, she seemed as clear as ever.
Then I discovered she wasn't taking her medications correctly. She was writing checks to pay her bills but never mailing them. The home she had always cared for was beginning to show signs of neglect.
Almost overnight, I found myself responsible for navigating a host of new and sometimes difficult decisions, many of which I had never faced before.
